Studying Artificial Intelligence Online in Arizona

Every program on this page comes from a school based in Arizona, and each one teaches fully online. The list is small, so we cover all five and tell you plainly where each one falls short. We compare programs within each level, so the bachelor's degrees sit with each other and the two master's programs sit together.

Arizona has no online AI doctorate or associate degree on our list. If you want more choice, the national lists draw from schools in every state, and you can take any of them from Arizona without moving.

Method

How We Chose These Programs

We listed every online artificial intelligence program offered by a school based in Arizona, then compared each one with other programs at its own level on cost, graduation rate, online flexibility, program depth and the school's track record. You can read the full method on our methodology page.

  • School based in Arizona, program delivered online
  • In-state rate shown when the school publishes one
  • Scored on the same five factors as every list and ranked inside its degree level

Scores are the weighted sum of five factors (Cost 30%, Outcomes 25%, Online Flexibility 20%, Program Depth 10%, Track Record 15%), version 1.0. The methodology page shows the rubric for each factor.

Choosing Between the Arizona Bachelor's Degrees

Three Arizona schools offer an online AI bachelor's, and each one is a different kind of program. All three are 120 credits.

Arizona State's degree is Artificial Intelligence in Business, offered through ASU Online and the W. P. Carey School of Business. Classes run 7.5 weeks. Choose it if you want to use AI inside a company and don't need to build models from scratch.

UAT is the opposite. It's a technology-only school, and the course list includes Machine Learning (CSC373), Deep Learning (CSC444) and Data Mining (CSC484). Classes are asynchronous, so you watch and submit on your own schedule.

Grand Canyon sits between them on focus and has the clearest price. Its online courses run seven weeks, and the degree is $490 per credit.

What an Arizona Online AI Degree Costs

Grand Canyon prints a rate for each degree. The master's is $610 per credit across 46 credits, which comes to $28,060 before fees. The bachelor's is $490 per credit across 120 credits, or $58,800 before fees.

The University of Arizona charges a flat $1,250 per credit for 30 credits, so $37,500. That's more than Grand Canyon's master's, in exchange for a shorter program at a state university.

UAT lists its online tuition as $10,300 per 12-credit semester, and adds a $495 resource fee each semester. Its military page shows $7,150 per 9-credit semester. Because the page shows two online figures, we haven't turned them into a total. Ask UAT which one applies to you.

ASU calculates tuition with its Tuition and Time Estimator instead of printing a rate, so you'll need to run that tool for your own number.

Getting Into the Arizona Master's Programs

The two master's programs ask for different things. Grand Canyon's runs 46 credits in eight-week online courses, and up to 12 credits, or a third of the program, may transfer in. That helps if you've already finished graduate work somewhere else.

The University of Arizona's master's is housed in the Eller College of Management. It asks for a bachelor's degree in any field and a 3.0 cumulative GPA. You also complete an entry test covering statistics, Python and SQL, and six credit hours of business or foundational business coursework.

That makes Arizona workable if you're changing careers, but plan some prep time for the entry test and for any missing business credits before you apply.
