Verdict
Our Verdict on the M.S.
This is the open-door master's of the group. You can apply with a bachelor's in any field, and the first semester is built as an onramp. It costs about what a mid-priced private program costs, and the fees on top are real. The thesis-or-project choice and four concentrations let you aim it.
The University of Bridgeport is a private nonprofit university in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It says its Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence was the first AI master's degree program in Connecticut.
The degree is 30 credits, down from 34 starting fall 2026. Bridgeport says it can be completed in as few as 2 years.
We list it as fully online because the school's own news article calls it the online MS in AI and its tuition page files the School of Engineering under Online Graduate Programs. Confirm online delivery with admissions.
Curriculum
Four Concentrations and the Core Courses
Courses named in the curriculum include Computer Vision, Python Programming, Deep Learning, Data Mining and Advanced Robotics. Python Programming near the front fits the school's claim that the first semester works as an onramp for people new to the field.
The four concentrations let you tilt toward security, data, deep learning and vision, or robotics. Your finish is either a two-part master's project or a thesis, and the thesis path needs one fewer course.
Bridgeport also points to an on-campus data center equipped with NVIDIA H200 GPUs. Ask how online students use it.

Fit
Who Should Apply, and Who Should Not
Who It Fits
- You're changing careers and have a bachelor's in something other than engineering or computer science. Bridgeport says no engineering or computer science background is required.
- You want to pick a direction. The four concentrations are Cybersecurity, Data Sciences and Data Analytics, Deep Learning and Computer Vision, and Robotics and Automation.
- You want a choice of finish. You can complete a master's project (9 courses) or a thesis (8 courses).
- You're an early-career, mid-career or seasoned professional. Those are the groups the program page names.
Who Should Skip It
- You want the lowest price. At $1,100 per credit plus program and textbook fees, other master's options on this site cost less.
- You live outside the United States. Bridgeport says international students looking to study in the US must apply for the on-campus program.
- You want a school with a high graduation rate. Bridgeport's reported rate is 41%, a school-wide figure.
Cost
How Much It Costs at $1,100 a Credit
Engineering tuition for the online program is $1,100 per credit, and the degree is 30 credits, so tuition is $33,000. The Computer Science program fee of $510 is listed separately, per semester or term unless otherwise noted. The textbook fee is $25 per credit hour for 2026-27.
The $510 fee repeats, so your real total depends on how many terms you spread the 30 credits across. This program is billed at the School of Engineering rate, which is higher than Bridgeport's general graduate rate, so don't assume a cheaper figure from the main tuition page.
30 credits at $1,100 a credit comes to $33,000 in tuition, before fees.

Online
The Online Format
Bridgeport calls the format online and aims it at working professionals. Ask whether classes are asynchronous, how long terms run and how many start dates there are each year.
The first semester is described as an onramp, which matters if you're new to programming or machine learning. You'd be building those basics inside the degree rather than before it.
Ask how many hours a week a course usually takes and whether you can switch between the project and thesis finish partway through.
- Time to Finish
- As few as 24 months
